Human Heparin Cofactor (HCII)
Prepared from
fresh frozen human plasma. Heparin Cofactor II is a single chain
glycoprotein with a MW of 65,600 daltons. HCII is a specific inhibitor
of thrombin with increased activity in the presence of heparin. Heparin
Cofactor II purity is determined by SDS-PAGE and the activity is
measured by the ability to inhibit thrombin in the presence of
saturating concentrations of heparin.
